Answer #1

Chemical Formulae of hydrochloric acid is HCl whereas chemical formulae of chloric acid is HClO3.
Both Chloric acid and hydrochloric acid have hydrogen(H) and chlorine(Cl) atoms in their chemical formulae.
But in Chloric acid 3 Oxygen atoms(O) are also present in the chemical formulae.
Besides in Hydrochloric acid(HCl), Cl atom is in -1 oxidation state whereas Cl atom in chloric acid is in +5 oxidation state(-2*3(O) + 1*1(H) +5*1(Cl)). Hence chloric acid also acts as an oxidizing agent.
