formulae of chloric acid is HClO3.
Both Chloric acid and hydrochloric acid have hydrogen(H) and
chlorine(Cl) atoms in their chemical formulae.

chemical formulae.
Besides in Hydrochloric acid(HCl), Cl atom is in -1 oxidation state
whereas Cl atom in chloric acid is in +5 oxidation state(-2*3(O) +
1*1(H) +5*1(Cl)). Hence chloric acid also acts as an oxidizing
agent.
