given
dHrxn = - 5099.5 KJ/mol
dHfO2 = 0 kj/mol
dHfco2= -393.509 kj/mol
dHfh2o = - 241.818 KJ/mol values taken from standard table

dHrxn = 8[-393.509]+9[-241.818] - 1[dHfC8H18]
dHfC8H18=5099.5 +8[-393.509]+9[-241.818]
dHfC8H18 = - 224.934 Kj/mol

this is enthalpy of formation for C8H18
