It is very important that the staff qualification in the child care facilities meets the standard requirements and considerations that is expected out of them. This will ensure not only a sound growth of the children but also proper education standards provision to them. If you are a center based service providing education and care to children of preschool age or under, you must ensure staff working directly with children meet the following qualification requirements:

1. at least 50% of staff hold or are actively working towards an approved diploma or higher qualification
2. all other educators either hold or are actively working towards an approved certificate III level qualification .

For a family day care, all the educators must either hold or be actively working towards an approved certificate III level qualification.All family day care coordinators must hold at least an approved diploma level qualification.
