We have to test (Right tailed T-test)

H_0:\mu _1-\mu _2=0\\ H_1:\mu _1-\mu _2 > 0

The sample means are \overline{x_1}=15, \overline{x_2}=14 . The sample standard deviations are s _1^2=2^2,s _2^2=3^2 . Sample sizes are n_1=31,n_2=31 . Degrees of freedom n_1+n_2-2=60 .

We use T distribution since the population standard deviations are not known.

The test statistic is

t=\left (\overline{x_1}-\overline{x_2} \right )/\sqrt{\frac{s _1^2}{n_1}+\frac{s _2^2}{n_2}}\\ t=\left (15-14 \right )/\sqrt{\frac{2^2}{31}+\frac{3^2}{31}}\\ t=1.54422

The P-value is
