According to the bronsted-lowry acid-base theorem.component which donates H+ is called acid and its conjugate pair is a conjugate base.

and component which accepts H+ is base and its conjugate is conjugate acid.

therefore in this reaction,

NH4+ is acid and H2O is base because NH4+ donates H+ and becomes NH3 while H2O accepts H+ and becomes H3O+.

therefore conjugate pair of NH4+, NH3 is conjugate base.

and conjugate pair of H2O, H3O+ is conjugate acid.

NH4+(acid) + H2O(base) --------> H3O+(conjugate acid) + NH3(conjugate base).
