Ans 1: There are three varieties of attachments, those are secure, anxious, avoidant. The children that grow up from a securely attached relationship often grow confident and responsible adults in the future. This happens because of a good protective and caring parenting, where the child feels the sense of security. The anxiously attached relationship in childhood creates a sense of alienation during the time of adulthood. In this kind of relationship, a parent’s support for a child is not enough for their sense of security. So, during adulthood they may become very anxious about their relationships and often have lower self-esteem. They may even become possessive of their relationships and try to have a bigger share of control to reduce their anxiety. These people are fun-loving, caring but in case of the relationships they take the other way round of jealousy, possessiveness, etc. The anxious and avoidant attachments are similar in many fronts but there is a great deal of difference. In the case of the avoidant attachments, the child may not be given the proper care by the caretaker as a result of which the child may have emotionally suppressed the tendency to attach. When an adult, he/she may avoid getting into intimacy in the fear of any future heartbreak because of the relationships.

Ans 2: The basic emotions refer to the emotions that are shown by the people of the whole world irrespective of the culture, religion, geography, etc. Some of them are fear, anger, surprise , sadness, disgust , happiness. These emotions are said to be very primitive and are passed on by our ancestors to have better survival instincts. Infants can show some basic emotions of smiles around the age of 2months. In the age range of 2-6 months, they may develop the emotions of sadness, surprise, etc. The emotions of anxiety may take some more time to develop. Environment and caregiving play a huge role in the development of certain emotions in babies.

Ans 3: Around the age of 12 months the child becomes aware of other people’s emotions. They understand that certain expressions are linked with the emotions within. Other emotions like jealousy are shown by the children during this period. 15-18 months of age is the time when a child shows characteristics of frustrations because of various reasons. They begin to apply reasons to see the behavior of the adults in various situations and try to react accordingly in several situations. At the age of two they get a complete hand of all the emotions and may even try to fake emotions to get something they want.
