I personally follow a democratic leadership style. Whenever, put into a situation, I attempt to solve problem by consulting team members and taking their opinion. I do not dwell in taking selfish decision, consider the team members’ suggestions/recommendation and eventually consider all these as factors before making critical decision. This is a democratic leadership style.
One of the key reason why I tend to practice this is that I have seen team decisions to be more effective than individual decisions in many instances. Even though individual instances may provide advantage in time constraint situations, team decisions are more efficient when enough time is available.
This is why I tend to focus on democratic style of leadership.

Some of the notable key characteristics of a transformational leader is
Pragmatism
Risk taking ability
Sharing collective effort
Entertaining new initiatives/ideas
Now, as a democratic leader, I too share these characteristics. One of the reason that I choose democratic leadership style is because it is practical. It shares risk and rewards with the team, it demonstrates collectivism and allows team members to come up with their ideas and views. Thus being a democratic leader also makes me a transformative leader under certain circumstances.
