Answer #1

Data analysis

1.Let V1 be the volume of acid and M1 be the molarity of acid.

V2 be the volume of base and M2 be the molarity of base.

Then  V1 M1 = V2 M2

Conclusions

1. If we forgot to add phenolphthalein we were not able to determine the end point.

2. Phenolphthelein is pink in basic medium(NaOH) so if we titrate it with acid(HCl) the end point is the disappearence of pink colur. phenolphthalein is colourless in acid.

3. V1 M1 = V2 M2

Let V1 be the volume of acetic acid and M1 be the molarity of acetic acid.

V2 be the volume of NaOH and M2 be the molarity of NaOH.

0.125 M x 22.40 ml = 15.00 ml x M2

M2 = (0.125 M x 22.40 ml) / 15.00 ml = 0.187 M

    For the preparation and standardization of NaOH with KHP im supposed to boil water for 1hr and 30 min to remove CO2....the problem is that if I don't boil it for that long and (30 min) b/c of not enough time but I put the water I boiled for 1/2 hr aproximately into a NaOH bottle with a CO2 absorber and stored it there for a few days. I would assume that I would have to boil the water again...but...
