Question

2. A circular drum of radius R 1 ft without a top lid is filled with water up to hi 3 ft. The tank is then spun around its vertical axis. After a steady state is reached at 160 rpm, water surface will not be a horizontal plane anymore. Calculate the minimum height of the rotating drum so that water does not spill out when the drum rotates at 160 rpm.
