Thermal equilibrium means, temperature of the two body or system is same.

And if the temperature is same then, there is no heat transfer.

Here given, X and Y are in thermal equilibrium, and Z have have temp. to that of Y. So all X,Y,Z will be in thermal equilibrium.

So last option,

There is no net transfer of energy if X is placed in thermal contact with Z. Is correct.
