Answer #1

Solution:

Given,

cost per kWh = 12 cents

total electrical energy expended = 3750 J

total average time = 150 s

We know that 1 kWh = 3.6x106 J

So, the number of kilowatt-hours in total energy 3750 J = 3750/(3.6x106)

= 3750/3600000

= 0.00104

So, the total cost for 0.00104 kWh = 0.00104 x 12 = 0.0125 cents

So, total cost of 3750 J of electrical energy consumed, is 0.0125 cents.
