Answer #1

d)

The force on a current carrying conductor due to a magnetic field depends on four factors:

a) strength of magnetic field itself (B)

b) length of segment of wire through which current is flowing (L)

c) amount of current flowing through that segment.(I)

d) the angle between current length element and magnetic field. (sin(theta))

This gives, F = B*I*L*sin(theta)

Here, theta can be set to 90 for the simplicity of computation. Which gives force on segment as, F = BIL

Now, the plot is between F vs I, which implies that the slope of the curve is B*L.

Since, the value of L is not provided, Lets assume it to be 1.

So, the slope of the curve will give B, i.e. the magnetic field strength.

For computing B:

Taking 1st two points from curve or one can use the best fit equation and find m (slope):

B = \frac{3.332-1.666}{0.5-0.25}

B = \frac{1.666}{0.25}

B = 6.664\ T

    In Explorations 1 and 2, we have been focusing on the direction of the force on a current- carrying wire. It is obtained by using a right hand rule. Make sure you understand the right hand rule and how to use it to determine the direction of the force on a current- carrying wire when the direction of the magnetic field and the current are known. The magnitude of the force on a current-carrying wire is given by F =...

    b. Place the Magnet Assembly on the Electronic Balance. Zero the reading on the balance, so the weight of the magnet is subtracted from the reading and the force of the current-carrying wire on the magnet is the only force measured by the balance. There will either be a zero function on the balance or a function labeled “tare” to zero the reading. Make sure the lab stand is positioned so that the Current Loop is between the poles of...

    Please read the article and answer about questions. You and the Law Business and law are inseparable. For B-Money, the two predictably merged when he was negotiat- ing a deal for his tracks. At other times, the merger is unpredictable, like when your business faces an unexpected auto accident, product recall, or government regulation change. In either type of situation, when business owners know the law, they can better protect themselves and sometimes even avoid the problems completely. This chapter...
