Solid State Welding - Two parts are joined in this type of welding without heat being the input source , and during the joining Huge pressure are applied at a temperature below the melting point of parent material Fusion Welding - Two parts are joined , in this type of welding heat is the important input source . Heat is given to parts being joined , where they get melted and thus are joined . If required suitables fillers are added over there . In Solid State welding No fillers are applied whereas in Fusion welding Fillers are applied . Distortion level in solid state is less compared to Fusion welding where distortion levels are very high causing high heat input per unit area . In solid state welding , heat is not an essential component , welding has been done with the help of applied pressure whereas in Fusion welding heat application is mandatory . Examples of Fusion welding are - Gas Welding , Resistance Welding , Submerged Welding , TIG Welding , MIG Welding . Examples of Solid State Welding are - Pressure Welding , Ultrasonic Welding , Diffusion welding , Forge welding , Explosive Welding . |
