For the below beam draw the shear and moment diagram. On work submitted to the ELC show a free body of the beam with all of its loads as well as the shear and moment diagrams. Label all points. Use the sign convention used in class. Assume that the cross-section of the beam is made out of a material with an allowable stress of 24 ksi. The cross-section is b inches wide and d inches tall. The b dimension is 0.6 times that d dimension of the beam.

Beam Forces "a" = 4 (k), "b" = 12 (k/ft.) and 7 (k).

On your work submitted through the ELC:

a) Draw the shear and moment diagrams for the beam. Label all points.

b) Determine the dimensions of the cross-section. Indicate the values of b and d.

The beam reactions are :   R(A) = 39.46666666666667 (k)            

                                          R(D) = 46.53333333333333 (k)
