Answer #1

Percentage of people who like pop music = 55% ; P(pop) = 0.55

Percentage of people who like rock music = 35%   ; P(rock) = 0.35

Percentage of people who like rock & pop music = 20% ; P(pop & rock) = 0.20

P( only pop) = P(A) = 0.55 - 0.20 = 0.35 [35%]

P(only rock) = P(C) = 0.35 - 0.20 = 0.15 [15%]

P(pop & rock ) = P(B) = 0.20 [20%]

P(pop U rock) = 0.55 + 0.35 - 0.20 = 0.70 = 0.30 [30%]

P(D) = 1- 0.70 = 0.30

ANS:

A = 35%

B= 20%

C = 15%

D = 30%
