c) Discussion:

  • As we can observe that increasing the mass of the black decreases the amplitude of vibration in the block. Therefore if we wish to have a smooth operation we should go for higher mass. However this will increase the energy consumption of the process.
  • Now on doubling the spring constant the amplitude of vibration almost got doubled. This means the spring should be chosen with the least spring constant to prevent large oscillations.
