The television has changed at a greater pace from 1940 to till date. Motorola's "Golden View" was the most popular television in the late 1940s and early 1950s. It was one of the most cheapest TVs available in two designs tabletop and portable cabinets at that time. In 1949, due to price drops, people both from cities and rural areas were buying TVs in large numbers. People were very much excited to see shows on TV screen and was enjoying their life in a different way.


At the end of 1940s, broadcast stations started making shows for TV models such as the General Electric 807. In 1948, four television networks, such as NBC, ABC, CBS, and DuMont started broadcasting over 128 stations.


In 1949, Raytheon Model M 1601 console television receiver was more popular with more technological improvements. Most cathode ray tubes during this period had circular faces, on which rectangular picture was shown. The first color television system started broadcasting in 1953.


In 1960, companies invent new technology, electronic remote control switch for the RCA Victor TV, whereas the first TV remote was presented to consumers in 1950. In 1960, the TV model Kuba Komet, resembles like a sailboat was introduced.
In the mid of 70s, cable networks became popular as the number of channels increased to many. During 60 and 70s the TV model like Keracolor Sphere was popular among public. In 1976, the first portable TV was launched.


During 1980s and 90s Philips launched its model Philips 21St and it was most popular in many homes. During 2000, the first flat-screen TVs, although expensive one, started to replace the box TV sets.


In 2010, companies like Sony experimented a new dimension in the living room with its unique creation of 3D TVs. These smart TVs provided a combo of both traditional television and a number of streaming services.


In 2010, streaming services and mobile platforms have changed people's interaction with screens. Now nobody needs a huge TV to watch shows. People are watching TV outside from their mobile screens.
