Answer #1

\Delta G^{o} = - nFEo

\Delta G^{o} = - RTlnK

So,

when \Delta G^{o} is positive , Eo is negative, and K < 1

and, when \Delta G^{o} is negative , Eo is positive and

K > 1.

Now,

A.

\Delta G^{o} is negative, so K > 1 and Eo must be pisitive.

Given, K >1 but Eo is negative.

Therefore, in row A, Eo is wrong.

B.

\Delta G^{o} is negative , so K must be > 1 , and Eo is positive.

Given, K < 1 and Eo is positive.

So, in row B , K is wrong.

C.

\Delta G^{o} is negative, so K must be > 1 and Eo is positive.

But given , K < 1 and Eo is negative . If E0 is negative , K must be K < 1.

As only one quantity can be wrong.

So in row C , \Delta G^{o} is wrong.
