Answer #1

The shape of a 6 cylinder, 3.0L engine is V-shape. This will be arranged in an angle of 60 or 90 degrees. The complete shape will looks like V shape. The rod lengths will be calculated based on the angle between the V shape. And the displacement will be varies from 180 cu to 190 cu. The stroke length will be designed approximately as 73mm.

We had formula for average piston speed V = 2NL

Where N is the piston speed and L is the stroke length

And the formula for swept volume is V = n*(/pi/4)B^2*L

Where B is the engine bore and n is the number of cylinders so we use n= 6

Important features of this engine

-Provides common crank shaft

-Gives quick movement

-Better fuel economy etc

Consider the pneumatic cylinder as shown in Figure 1 which is an illustration from the Starcyl space-saver range, as can be found in their Star2.pdf catalogue, www.starcyl.com. Some pneumatic cylinders can have a push/pull rod (item I in Figure 1) protruding from either head (item A in Figure 1), but this cylinder clearly has only one, making it a “single rod end” type of cylinder. This cylinder is however “double acting”, which means it can be pressurised on either side...
