No, I do not agree with this statement that it's a waste of time and also other resources to develop a set of sophisticated scenarios for the situations which may never occur. This is because of the principle of uncertainity. If 95% of you would say that a situation may not happen so planning and working on things to analyse those situations are wrong, I would say that there is still a 5% chance that the situation can happen as well. We don't no when the situation could arrive. Disastersc opportunities or threats doesn't knock your door and come, it just comes right in and hit you. Also, it is always better to be prepared for the non happening situations as compared to not prepared for the happening situations. Being it a fire emergency in the office, accident or anything which is uncertain, one always have to prepare for everything and plan out the worst and the best of any situation and develop the most sophisticated scenarios. Thus, I believe that it is important to plan beforehand and make everyone prepare so that when the situation arrives, nobody is at risk.
