In scheduling, describe how you compute the “FLOW TIME” of each job in the sequence.
Flow time for the starting job in the sequence is nothing but its operating time. The flow time of the next job is the sum of the previous job’s flow time and the current job’s operation time. The same process is repeated for all the jobs in the sequence. A job sequence is considered to be good if the average value of its flow time is as lower as possible.
In scheduling, describe how you compute the “FLOW TIME” of each job in the sequence.
Briefly explain how the Shortest Remaining Time scheduling algorithm differs from Shortest Job Next.
Describe how CPM handles the trade-offs between time and cost in the scheduling of a project.
TWA is scheduling the repair of five identical 707 aircraft next month. The time to repair each of the aircraft is given below: Aircraft: 1 2 3 4 5 Repair Time (Days): 6 7 2 5 8 If the sequence of repair were 1-2-3-4-5, what would the mean job flow time be for the aircraft? a. 14 b. 16.4 c. 28 d. 82

Consider the Attributes of Professionalism and describe how you would display sensitivity when scheduling and managing patient appointments.
Operations Scheduling. You are a manager of an injection molding shop, and need to schedule several jobs on your largest molding machine. You decide to restrict the order of your choices somewhat to take an advantage of subsequent processing that some jobs must undergo. There are six jobs to be scheduled on the molding machine. Job 1 should be done before job 4 and job 3 before job 5. Processing times, due dates (both in days) and the cost (as...

3. [Challenging Question - Scheduling for Rescuing Scuba Divers (20 pts)] Tom Cruise has worked as an operations manager of Underwater Treasure Discovery Company in Miami, FL and recently he was assigned to make a schedule to dispatch deep-water robots to save five scuba divers needing urgent rescue out of danger under the deep sea. He must do a very brief assessment of how urgent each diver appears and need to determine the best sequence to save all five scuba...
