1) No ,he was not justified in his action .This type of act is unethical and cheating in case if he is caught and he may lose that job and blacklisted in that company or group of company. One should not exaggerate about his education and professional life, because at the end of the day you may caught be it today or later. I don’t justified Johnny action as it can spoil his career in future and he may lose respect in his society. So I will suggest rectifying his course of action.

2) As the question mentioned that is there anything to worry about because he got job anyway.

  • · Yes he have to worry because even you got a job there is a background check by company, where company engaged third party to check candidate background such as education, family and legal cases, your physical fitness .
  • · If the company fined any fictions information which does not match with your resume what you mention, the company may fire you on the spot or blacklisted in that company and inform to other company.
  • · There was many insistence where many employees work for more than 15 year more ,but when cross check happen the company found that education doesn’t match what they have mention in the resume that time .
  • · They have been suspended till the further enquiry and have been dismissed. So, in short company always cross check your background, so be true to yourself it will not land in trouble.

3) If I am in human resources department, I will immediately inform to higher management of human resources department and concern department about this issue.

  • · I will give Johnny a chance for explanation for his act and held a closed door meeting with him along with my officials, to know why he has done his action.
  • · After knowing his views, we will discuss with our concern team whether to retain him with warning or fired him from the job and blacklisted him.
  • · As the question mention what would be the reaction, my reaction will be I will know why he has done this act, depending on his action how much rule he breached according to the rule book of our company.
  • · I will discuss with my higher management to allow him to retain the job with a warning and pay cut as a punishment because he has just started his career and does not spoil his career.
