This one has a more commercial and streamlined look, and instead of showing the package hanging in open air, the new drone hides the item in a square compartment. Toward the end of the video, the drone alights atop an Amazon logo in the yard of a consumer and spits out the package (in this case, shoes) and then takes off in a matter of seconds. The delivery process, which Amazon is careful to note is real and not a simulation, comes off seamlessly, making the prospect of drone deliveries seem like something that will be viable just a few months from now. However, despite the encouraging footage, Amazon is still holding off on announcing exactly when its drones will take to the skies. On the updated Prime Air page featuring the new flight footage, a message reads, "Putting Prime Air into service will take some time, but we will deploy when we have the regulatory support needed to realize our vision." Michael Hammer and James Champy published their best-selling book, re-engineering the Corporation, where the authors promoted the idea of radically redesigning the enterprise by wiping the slate clean. Supply chain management (SCM) is the management of information flows between and among activities in a supply chain to maximize total supply chain effectiveness and corporate profitability.

In the past, manufacturing efforts focused primarily on quality improvement efforts within the company. Today these efforts reach across the entire supply chain, including customers, suppliers etc. Today’s supply chain is an intricate network of business partners linked through communication channels and relationships. In the insurance industry, claims typically took 31 days to process from the time of the accident to the resolution. Progressive went through the BPR process and slashed the process from 31 days to 4 hours by offering a mobile claims process where the company went directly to the site of the accident, processed the claim on site, and issues a check or arranged repair within one of its shops. Here the BPR could help by identifying the time taken for drones to deliver the goods, how can it be reduced, what is the safety net for goods delivered using drones, does it need to bestrengthened, what are the additional costs for building the safety net, what is the relative costs as compared to human delivery.
