Why should you choose EY to pursue CPA?
EY is one of the Big 4s as they are called. We need to start by understanding the culture at EY. So I am myseld am an Indian Chartered Accountant (Equivalent to a US CPA) and I have in the recent past worked for PwC in tech consulting and Deloitte in their M&A team which is a part of investment banking division.
Some things are common across all the Big 4s culture wise such as long working hours even when work is seasonal or minimal etc. Talking specifically of EY the work culture is the most demanding of all the Big 4s. If you're of an entrepreneurial mindset and like to make conections and are a team worker you would thrive at EY but if you're looking for balance in worklife or time to pursue hobbies, EY is definetely not the place for you.
The reason why EY is a good choice if you want to pursue CPA is because of the kind of network of people and clients it exposes you to, that is second to none. The standard of work assignments you'd get to do would be among the best.
