(At highest Machine Hours)Total Cost = Variable Cost + Fixed Cost.

$6,300 = (630 hrs * $8.42) + Fixed Cost.

=>$6,300 = $5,310 + Fixed Cost

=> Fixed Cost = $990.

If Variable cost per unit is taken as exact $9 per unit, then Fixed Cost => $6,300 - (630 hrs * $9) = $630.
