Answer #1

There are two types of eletronic transitions- (1) d-d transition, (2) Charge Transfer transition.

Now, d-d transition are two types Laprote rule and Spin rule.

whereas Charge transfer transitions are three types (a) LMCT; (b) MLCT and (c) MMCT.

(a) [Cu(H2O)6]2+ : It shows colour due to the d-d transition .

(b) [Cu(Phen)2]+ : It shows colour due to the Metal to Ligand Charge Transfer transition (MLCT) .

(c) [CrO4]2- : It shows colour due to the Ligand to Metal Charge Transfer transition (LMCT) .

(d) [Fe(NH3)6]2+ : It shows colour due to the d-d transition .
