Late pregnancy bleeding is high risk case of particular condition in pregnancy termedvas abruptio placenta.

In health assessment the following has to be mentioned regarding the bleeding

For mother

Inspection:

  • vaginal bleeding + / present
  • Pake
  • Color:dark red
  • Quantity of blood loss
  • Depression observed at the site of abdomen superficially where there is placenta

Palpation

  • Pain ,tender
  • Contraction present

General:

  • Risk factors:smoking, alcohol, substance abuse
  • Vital signs :blood pressure

For fetus

  • Record the fetal heart rate
  • Maturity of the fetus has to be assessed
