Answer #1

generator is a electrical machine. its converts the mechanical energy to electrical energy.

basically its works on the fardays laws of electro magnetic indution. its states " whenever conductor placed in magnetic field when the conductor cuts the magnetic field then emf is induced in the conductor.the produced emf is directily prapositional to the rate of change of flux linkages.

mainly generator has two parts

1.stator

2. rotor

stator is stationary part and its has conductors on it.

rotor is rotating part and it has magnetic field and this field can be created by an excitation or perment magnet type and its is rotated by with help of prime mover.its based type on type of source we are used.

working\

when the rotor is start rotatingwith the help of prime mover and exciation then magnetic field creates on it.this field rotating then its cuts the stator conductors then elctric current induced in the condcutors with respect to rate of change of flux linkages.this is the basic process of current prodction in a generator.
