Answer #1

a)

Break even number of guests at the theme park = Fixed costs/Contribution margin per unit

Contribution margin per unit = Selling price - variable cost

Selling price = $60 + $30 ( concession revenue)

Variable cost = $ 24 + $16

Variable cost = $40

Contribution margin per unit = $90 - $40

Contribution margin per unit = $50

Breakeven number of guests = 750,000 / 50

Breakeven number of guests = 15,000 guests

b) Profits = Revenues - costs

Profits = $90 * 24,000 - [ $750,000 + $40 * 24,000 ]

Profits = $ 450,000

____________________________________________________________

c)

Profits = $90 * 40,000 - [ $750,000 + $40 * 40,000 ]

Profits = $ 1,250,000

_______________________________________________________________________

d) Revised breakeven = $1,000,000 / 50

Revised breakeven = 20,000
