Imagine that you are hired to manage an underperforming department of a business. Upon assessing day to day operations for a period of time, you observe that there appears to be a good deal of confusion in the department. The problems run the gamut from unmotivated employees to those who either don’t know what they should be doing or don’t know how to do their job. Suggest a plan of correction to improve the department’s outcomes.

Basis the assessment of day to day operation, my plan of correction to improve the department’s outcomes will be as per below.

• For first 4 week – I will request each of team member to share their challenges, the process they currently work on and how they work on those process (ask them to create a process document), and do they see any improvement areas in terms of how better they can do certain tasks
• For next 2 weeks – I will share the process documents created in first 4 weeks with a different team member to review the document and will ask them to add any points from outsider view in terms of improving the process
• For next 1 week – I will run series of meeting with each of team member to understand their process in details and how they do it
• For next 4 weeks – I will create the process maps, workflows for each process and sub process and will upload on our team sharepoint portal so that everyone can see the process and take guidance from that document in case required.
