1000 kg soyabeans containing 18% oil is processed in two stages:

1: Crushing and pressing of soybeans producing soybeans with 6% oil

2: Oil extraction using hexane producing hexane extracted oil and soybean meal containing 0.5% oil

Assuming the only process loss is oil loss in stage 1, calculate:

a. The amount of oil loss in stage 1 (in kg)

b. Yield of hexane extraction (%), which is calculated as the mass of hexane extracted
