TFTP uses the stop and wait protocol, wherein it goes about 3 round trips from the client to server and back. For each of these round tripsz it can transfer a maximum of 512 bytes which acts as a limiting factor. This allows TFTP to transfer at a speed of 170000 bytes/sec or approx 170 KBps.
