a)
Consider MAC addresses of workstations and servers from 1 to 8
are MAC 1, MAC 2, MAC 3, MAC 4, MAC 5, MAC 6, MAC 7, MAC 8.
Consider MAC addresses of switch A and switch B are MAC A and MAC B.
1. Station 2 transmits a frame to station 1
In this case a frame from Station 2 will be sent to Switch B
through port 5. Now switch B will make the below entry in its
forwarding table and broadcast the frame and it will be recieved by station 1.
MAC 2 5 [MAC Address Port]
2. Station 2 transmits a frame to server 4
In this case a frame from Station 2 will be sent to Switch B
through port 5. After that the switch broadcast the frame and
it will be recieved by Switch A. Now Switch A will make the
below entry in its table and broadcast it to all of its ports.
MAC B A [MAC Address Port]
3. Server 3 transmits a frame to station 6
In this case a frame from Server 3 will be sent to Switch A
through port B. Now switch A will make the below entry in
its forwarding table and broadcasts the frame.
MAC 3 B [MAC Address Port]
4. Station 6 transmits a frame to station 5
In this case a frame from Station 6 will be sent to Hub and the
Hub will broadcast the frame and finally it will be received by
station 5. Here hub is a passive device and it doesnt contain
any table to store the entries.
5. Station 1 transmits a frame to station 2
In this case a frame from Station 1 will be sent to Switch B
through port 4. Now switch B will make the below entry in
its forwarding table and send frame to station 2.
MAC 1 4 [MAC Address Port]
6. Station 8 transmits a frame to server 4
In this case a frame from Station 8 will be sent to Switch A
through port F. After that the switch broadcast the frame as
it doesnt contain the entry for the destination server 4.
Now Switch A will make the below entry in its table
MAC 8 F [MAC Address Port]

1. A 6-node network is connected into an Ethernet switch implementing a star topology. Nodes are labeled A through F, and their MAC addresses follow M-A, M-B, and so on. Suppose that the following frames are sent a. A sends a frame to E b. Ereplies with a frame to A c. F sends a frame to B d. B replies with a frame to F e. D sends a frame to A The Ethernet switch table is initially empty....

Refer to the network figure above, showing two Ethernet Subnets
connected through an IP Router, for questions #1, #2 and #3. For
each device, both its Internet Protocol (IP) address and its MAC
address (also called the Physical address or the Ethernet address)
are shown. The Subnet Mask used by all devices is 255.255.255.192
(which is same as prefix length “/26”).

and then Client #3 sent a packet...
Hosts A through J have been connected to a switch for some time, with Host A on port 1, Host B on port 2, and so on. A user moves his system and connects Host A to interface 12. Immediately after the connection, Host A sends a unicast message to Host B. Which of the following are true? A. When the frame enters the switch, it is flooded to all interfaces. B. When the frame enters the switch, it is...
Problem (1) A LAN is setup where two computers (A and B) are connected in a star topology to a hub (H1) at distances of 1Om and 20m and with BERs of 5E-6 and 1E-5 respectively. Hub H1 is connected directly to another hub (H2) at a distance of 50km and with a BER of 1E-6. Two computers (C and D) are connected to hub H2 at distances 50m and 20m respectively with BERs of 1E- 3 each. The data...
Goal: To become familiar with using Port A and Port H as input ports H as an input port and port B as an output port, using dragon12-Light boards as well as to improve your programming skills.Project: Write an assembly program and a C program to do the following:When DIP switch #8 is high and #1 is low, turn on all the even numbered LEDs and let them stay on even after the switch #8 is changed to low. When DIP...

A semi-automated flexible manufacturing cell (FMC) is used to produce three products The products are made by two automated processing stations followed by an assembly station. There is also a load/unload station. Material handling between stations in the FMC is accomplished by mechanized carts that move tote bins containing the particular components to be processed and then assembled into a given product. The carts transfer tote bins between stations. In this...
