Answer #1

Gravitational potential energy is given by:

PE = m*g*h

Change in potential energy will be given by:

dPE = PEf - PEi

dPE = m*g*hf - m*g*hi

hi = Initial height = 1 m

hf = final height = 0 m

m = mass of book = 0.5 kg

g = 9.80 m/sec^2

So,

dPE = 0.5*9.80*0 - 0.5*9.80*1

dPE = -4.9 J

    I just need help with part C please! I'm struggling! Thank you. a) If half of the weight of a flatbed truck is supported by its two drive wheels, what is the maximum acceleration (in m/s^2) it can achieve on dry concrete where the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.7 and the coefficient of static friction is 1. The answer is 4.9 m/s^2. b) Will a metal cabinet lying on the wooden bed if the truck slip if it accelerates...
