Weaknesses

• The five factor model takes into consideration only five factors of personality and ignores many other important aspects of personality which should be taken into consideration.
• The five factors are not independent of each other, which means that their are corelations between factors.

Strengths

• The five factor model has been supported by research, where it has shown to be predictive of behavior of an individual.
• These five personality traits are found to be in nonwestern cultures as well.

The five factor model cannot explain the human behavior on its own and has many limitations such as that it may place overemphasis on the traits instead of taking into consideration the various environment factors which may influence a persons behavior. However, it is a useful measure to predict behavior of person and provide a glimpse into what the personality of an individual is.
