acceleration: always 9.8m/s(2)

The speed starts to decrease until it reaches zero at the highest point and then it starts to increase again when the ball goes back downwards.

The acceleration is constant, always 9.8m/s2 downwards, that's why the ball goes speeding down when upwards and speeding up when downwards.
