Other ways of thinking about the question: What is the ending—or maybe another way of putting it is this: where do you consider the ending of the novel to begin, since my own sense is that certain events set the ending in motion well before the novel actually wraps itself up? Is it fairy-tale-like, or maybe “happily ever after,” in keeping with the last Discussion question, or not? How does the end make you feel? Are you satisfied or settled by it, or does it continue to raise questions for you?
