How do you write a clear method for linked list, that is to clear the entire elements (nodes)?

Not just to change the pointer of the first node to null, but also have to clear the memory.

Thank you for the help. This question is based on JAVA.

In Java there are no memory leaks. Remove the reference to head of the list and the entire linked list will be reclaimed by the garbage collector (unless there are other references to head or other nodes in the linked list).

Therefore,

void deleteList()

    {

        head = null;

    }

The above function would clear the list.

    Creating linked list data structure Overview The purpose of this assignment is for you to write a data structure called a Linked List, which utilizes templates (similar to Java’s generics), in order to store any type of data. In addition, the nature of a Linked List will give you some experience dealing with non-contiguous memory organization. This will also give you more experience using pointers and memory management. Pointers, memory allocation, and understand how data is stored in memory will...

    You are given a pointer head to the first node in a linked list. Each node points to the next node. We call the list a snail if the last node points to some node v in the list. We call the list a snake if the last node points to NULL. The list has n nodes. You are not allowed to change the list (permanently or temperately). You are allowed to use O(1) extra memory. The value of n...
