1.When a process is judged to be out of control, what action steps should be taken?

Answer-

When any process gets out of control, then steps are taken to control it. It involves following action steps that are to be taken when process is judged to be out of control –

• A Correction plan is made keeping in mind all the requirements that are to be done to minimise the effect of out of control process.
• Find the root cause of the problem instead of just concentrating on one wrong step.
• Whatever solution is identified must be reviewed, checked and verified before applying it. So that again any discrepancy does not arise.
• Each member must be given responsibilities to apply the required changes as per the plan.
• Implement the solution found at each and every stage of the process where the discrepancy is there.
• Check and verify that the solution applied is working right in actual conditions or not so that immediate steps can be taken to correct it.

2.What is meant by process capability?

Answer-

Process capability measures the ability of the process to produce measurable output within specified limits. Process capability refers to that how much process has tools, material, personnel and required resources to produce a given output within given time. This helps to determine that whether the process is meeting the requirements of customers consistently or not.

3. Briefly describe the three main concepts on which statistical thinking is based.

Answer-

Statistical thinking refers to using fundamentals, principals and concepts of statistics in decision making. Statistical thinks helps in improving decision making process.
