Digital Divide: -

• Today the interaction between the human being and the technology has increased drastically as in today's life wherever we want to immense ourselves let that be economic, political or the social aspects. We have to connect to the internet to be up to date in today's time.
• But at the same time there are people who are still not aware of this technology or are not able to use it. Internet has not still been able to reach many people.
• This is called the digital divide which is increasing the gap between the underprivileged people and the rich and wealthy people.
• The poor, the rural, the older part of our society are not getting this technology called internet. They are still far behind from the world in terms of knowledge about what is going on this world.
• Most of them are not even aware about the computers even or never have seen one in their life.

• The main area of disparity of network access is the Education as it is increasing the digital divide. The households that are educated are seem to be more likely to be using more of the computers and the internet and they would go for the higher education. But the uneducated people or the poor people seems less likely to be using the technology as they don't have any knowledge about the technology or computers.
• The second important area is the Income as the household that have the sufficient income or good income can only enjoy the facility of the computer and the internet as the poor people are not even able to eat properly how can they think about technology. This area is also directly connected to the education as  only the educated people will get the job. Hence, get the income to enjoy the technology.
• The third area is Society as due to this divide now they are two groups in the society that have arise the system of the class of persons that can use the internet and then the class of persons that are unable to access the internet due to illiteracy or income etc. Due to this now in the society people are classified or judged on the basis that if they can access the internet or not.
• The fourth main area of digital divide is Race as due to this digital divide the poor people of Africa or the nearby South Africa do not get to use the computer or education and that's why they are getting separated from the society and being discriminated from the society. Now the people just by looking at them think that they are not good enough or educated. It is increasing the gap of race in the society.
• The fifth main area is the Economy as this divide happens because the people are not educated, so they cannot work or get income to use the technology that's why it affects the economy of the country. If all the unprivileged people also get the education and the jobs and can gain the jobs then it will only help in boosting of the economy of the country. It will also increase the literacy rate of the country along with the decrease of the unemployment rate of the country. So if this divide is sorted and all the people get the opportunity of using the computer or the internet then it will only do the profit of the country and the people.

Ways to prevent this Digital Divide:

• The first step that we can take to prevent the divide is through making the internet and the broadband services affordable for the weaker section of the society so that they can also easily access them and does not view it as leisure item.
• The second step we can do is that to provide the computers to the people that are poor and train them about them. To aware them of this technology and what all they can do through that.
• Next step would be the digital literacy training and tell them that they can learn through digitally also and that they don't have to go to the school only and pay the fees. They can learn free and from their home.
• To tell them that through the internet they can work from home also and can be self sufficient through the technology. That technology is for them only it is for them to help live an easy and comfortable life. That through the internet they can collab or start some business online without much investment.

Importance of this Digital Divide

• The importance of decreasing this digital divide is that through this we can increase the literacy rate and make the poor self sufficient.
• Through decreasing of this we can help in improving the economy of the country and and make the country more developed.
• It is also important to less the gap between the poor and the rich in the society and to end the two section of the society and to make everyone equal.
