Electroencephalography (EEG) signal is measured as a part of polysomnography examination at the hospital. The subject is measured for eight consecutive hours. How should this examination be conducted to determine, whether the subject is suffering from any sleep-related disorder? Give an example algorithm, method, or technique that is applicable for the given situation.
interpretation of the results
o What kind of resolution is required for interpreting the results
accurately? How can we achieve this? How is the resolution of the
EEG measurement determined?
o How are the results interpreted to make possible diagnosis based
on the measurement and other background data? How does a diagnostic
procedure differ from the case, if this measurement was a
scientific study of detecting the risk of presence of a certain
sleeping disorder?
Polysomnography is the study of sleep and it also study of brain waves oxygen level in blood heart rate breathing and movement of legs also
mainly done at hospitals or at sleeping centre this test records your sleep cycle and patterns this test will done only at day shift its because in night how much u sleep that will known at day
This test is done or monitored the sleep stages and identify the sleep pattern why sleep is disturbed
There are two process of sleep one is NREM(NON RAPID EYE MOVEMENT) during this time brain record brain waves which record by EEG and further slow down the process After an hour this NREM sleep cycle is over and REM sleep start but NREM sleep again pickup by brain and finally REM sleep begins this time REM is good for or dreaming occur in REM sleep
TECHNIQUES
Following techniques of polysomnography describe below
Conventional PSG record monitored is use in study of sleeping which works on following parameters like central occipital frontal etc
And recording of eye movement also done instrument name is electroculogram and muscle activity also seen check called EMG myogram
PSG is used maintaining for patient who have high risk of COPD CHF other diseases
Normal sleep cycle is of 7 to 9 hours if any person sleep 7 or 6 hours then there is no need to do PSG test because complete sleep doesn't show any problem
RESULTS
normal 5 to 15 indicated mild levels of breathing and disturbance in sleep
16 to 30 it is moderate and
Above 40 it is severe
Obtain results accurately one should follow the correct criteria of test like any disturbance doesn't create at sleep centre or hospital because it affect sleep and results altered there is no proper treatment find
We can achieve this by doctor can tell the step what you do in these steps firstly he said or told that before came for this test never take any medication caffeine alcohol other beverages because it can disturb sleep and exact underlying cause not identify
EEG MEASUREMENT.
It can be done for the electrical activity of brain signal using electrodes which were put in scalp and brain cells recipe or communicating brain cells and record activity of brain

Croswell University Hospital This report doesn't describe where our costs are generated. We're applying one standard to all patients, regardless of their level of care. What incentive is there to identify and account for the costs of each type of procedure? Unless...
