a. Change of units, or conversion factor ( like treating height in inches instead of cm), or multiplying the whole column by a positive constant will not effect the correlation.

Here we just take the variable in different units, case as above.

Hence, correlation is not going to change.

Answer: A) 0.40

b. D) is correct.

You can 't calcualate r for a categorical variable and a continous variable, that' impossible.

Answer: D) is correct

Men tend to have longer feet than women. So, if you find a really long footprint at the scene of a crime, then in the absence of any other evidence, you would probably conclude that the criminal was a man. And conversely, if you find a really short footprint at the scene of a crime, then (again in the absence of any other information), you would probably conclude that the criminal was a woman. What is the probability that you...

(2 points) For each problem, select the best response. a) The nicotine content in cigarettes of a certain brand is normally distributed with mean (in milligrams) u and standard deviation o=0.1. The brand advertises that the mean nicotine content of their cigarettes is 1.5, but you believe that the mean nicotine content is actually higher than advertised. To explore this, you test the hypotheses H. :p=1.5, H iu > 1.5 and you obtain a P-value of 0.052. Which of the...
