What must be done to change the living conditions in inner-city and low-income neighborhoods that help generate street crime?
One of the most important factors that keep the inner-city low income people away from the other people is that they are always ignored from almost all spheres of life. Enough infrastructure in terms of roads, housing, medical, education, employment etc. all remain a concern for them which the government also ignore comfortably. If the infrastructure is taken care of, they would feel inclusive. Secondly, unemployment and skill training are the two most important factors that push them into committing crime. It thus becomes the foremost responsibility of the governments and other agencies to make enough skill training and employment available. Consistent income would change the lives of the people for good. Finally, enough policing with a view to befriend them and make them understand the implications of involving in crime need to be strengthened. It is to make sure that the streets are monitored and protected by enough police force.
