Percent of recovery in the recrystallization process depends on the nature of the solvent that you choose. That is, a solvent should be chosen in such a way that your compound should be insoluble or sparingly soluble in the solvent at room temperature and completely dissolve in the higher temperature. The impurities should be completely soluble in the solvent at both room temperature and at higher temperature.
Seeing the percentage of recover, I feel that you should change the solvent and try to recrystallize it. It has nothing to do with the impurity contents.
Does a percent of recovery for Recrystallization value “24%) tell us that the product has a...
assuming there were no significant experimental errors, do you think the percent recovery of a recrystallization is the same as the percent of the impure sample that is the desired compound? for example, if you recovered 90% of the sample, does that mean 10% of the sample was the impurity? why or why not?
please answer all parts I am trying to check my
answers.
Recrystallization of Acetanilide Recrystallization is an important method used by chemists to purify solid compounds. When a chemist conducts a chemical reaction as shown in Scheme 1, it will rarely go to 100% completion, and will frequently produce byproducts. These byproducts and some of the unreacted starting materials will be present in the end as impurities. Chemists need ways to remove these unwanted impurities so they can isolate their...
Hi,
1. What does the product-process matrix tell us? How should the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant be structured? 2. What strategy do the following organizations seem to use to manage customer-introduced variability? a. eBay b. Ritz-Carlton Hotels c. New airline check-in procedures
QUESTION 2 What does the Social Cost of Carbon tell us? Dollar value of damage per ton of carbon Dollar value of abatement per ton of carbon Amount paid by taxpayers to offset carbon emissions Amount paid by the government to encourage non-carbon energy sources
Recrystallization of Acetanilide was conducted using water as our solvent. First we had to choose a solvent based (water was chosen as our solvent due to it not dissolving acetanilide at room temp but dissolved it when heated) Then we performed recrystallizaation, vacuum filtration and then melting point measurements. For the post lab discussion for recrystallization of acetanilide report we have to address several different arguments. The ones below I'm not sure what to focus on to completely defend what...
You have a mean forecast error of 96.5. What does that tell us about the underlying demand?
What does the intercept (3.3735438) tell us? Is it meaningful Select one: O a. It is greater than zero, so there is a positive relationship between beds and risk. This is meaningful in this context. O b. It tells us that the lowest possible risk is 3.3735438. That is meaningful in this context c. It tells us that a hospital with 0 beds is expected to have a risk of 3.3735438. That is not meaningful in this context. O d....
Tell us of a problem with a product which bothers you. How would you use technology to solve the problem? - Propose more than one potential solution (max 3) Compare and choose the best solution for the problem How would you measure whether the chosen solution is working? What might be the reason for this chosen solution to fail ?
Separating a Mixture, Recrystallization, pre-lab
assignment
could you also explain why you chose that substance for the empty
spaces and question marks
EXPERIMENT 4 Pre-Lab Assignment Separating a Mixture, Recrystalliration Name Date 1. Complete the following flowchart which shows how to separate a mixture of sand, sodium chloride and acetanilide. Notice that after a separation process (a down arrow) the filtered solids are shown on the left and the filtrate (the liquid) is shown on the right. The terminal step...
Please tell us about a price that has recently changed and tell us why. Provide a link to a news article about the good or service you chose. Remember, news articles don't always get the economics right; you article doesn't need to grounded in solid economic theory, it's simply a link to information on a price change in the real world. You are the one who will explain the economics to us in your post. Use what we learned in...
