WORKING PRINCIPLE

the creation of magnetic field wheel is rotates in between disc. when brake is applied lenz act on disc which rotates opposite direction of wheel. therefore wheel will stop.

APPLICATIONS

copy machines

packaging machinery

printing machinery

factory automation

food processing machinery

ADVANTAGES

no friction loss

less heat loss

less wear of components

no oil lekage

less maintenance cosr

longer life span compare to other brakes

no need to change brake oils regularly

problem of brake fluid vaporization and freezing is eliminated

DISADVANTAGES

failure to act as a holding device

less effective under low velocities

usage of electric power for braking

RESULT

by using the electromagnetic breaking as a retardation equipment. which are frequently used in high speed vehicles and train, but it is some problem in low speed vechicle. the performance of electromagnetic breaking is good in comparision to all.

CONCLUTION

electromagnetic breaking system is superior to conventional frictional breaking as there is no any friction and heat in electromagnetic breaking system. the combination of eddy current and magnetic forces makes this brakes more effective. this brake can be used as auxillary brake system in vehicle.력 ECO Fig. Electromagnet brakes at zero friction
