Answer #1

The organization that we would be considering here is Alibaba (the largest Business to Business E commerce firm).

It is a match making platform for buyers and suppliers and hence it does not have any product.

Resources available with Alibaba are:

  • Employee strength( The tenured employees are much more with this organization than the competitor firms and hence these employees know in and out about the process)
  • Huge supplier database
  • Strong call center team
  • Ample finance available to expand.

Yes the company has very successfully used this as it has maintained that the attrition is lowest in the industry i.e. it has leveraged the employee strength that it has, it has expanded its operations in India where huge demand is there and this has become possible only because of ample financial resources available with them. It has pitched the huge database of suppliers it has for its new service which is cheaper for the suppliers and beneficial for the company which has increased the revenue of the company by 5% this financial year.
