(a) the general equation of a staright line is given by the y = mx + c where m is the gradient of the line and is the slope of the straight of the angle which of the line make with the positive direction of x_axis of the line the number C is the called the intercept on y_axis like wise the x_intercept would be the point at which the line intersect are a, & b respectively (B) we have the number of children = x number of adults = y therefore according to given condition i.e the most cost of the trip per adult is 100 rs & per child is 60 rs of total cost being 30000 we have 100y + 60 x = 30000 or10 y + 6x = 3000 or 5y + 3x = 1500 (3) we have to sketch the graph 5y + 3x = 1500 dividing through by 1500 we get y/300 + x/500 = 1 thus the y and x intersect in the graph would be 300 & 500 respectively thus the graph is called as:
