Philosophy - In the Crito Socrates argues that his escaping from prison would be an injury to the laws of Athens. He further contends that for this reason he must not escape from his sentence. Do you agree with his argument explain why or why not.

Socrates is admired for his commitment to reason, courage and integrity in acting on his principles even if the society doesn't consider it to be wise enough. I disagree with the statement as it is a matter of making what arguments will likely to appear to the young ones. If a law gives punishment to an innocent the citizens will have obligations against law, but even law has obligations against citizens. If law is giving punishment to an innocent it is breaking its side of the agreement so hence the victim also has the right then to break their side of the agreement. Socrates was a great man with a complete understanding of the things happening near him but in todays modern world his values will not be worked as we believe that no innocent deserves to be be punished for any reason.
