USG Abdomen- Gall bladder

It is an ultrasonography of transverse view of gall bladder with multiple tiny stones in the gall bladder. There is no evidence of wall thickening or pericholecystic fluid. The gallbladder is an organ that is part of the human biliary system, which is involved with the production, storage and transportation of bile. It is hollow structure located under the liver and on the right side of the abdomen. Ultrasound imaging of the abdomen uses sound waves to produce pictures of the structures within the upper abdomen. A normal Gallbladder should be thin walled (<3mm) and anechoic. Gall bladder is a pear shaped saccular structure for bile storage in the Right Upper Quadrant. Ultrasound is the most common test performed to evaluate gall bladder abnormalities. In the non fasting patient, it may be collapsed and incompletely visualized.
