The commercial application of refrigeration includes supermarkets, ice rinks, hotels, malls ets. Where the temperature is maintained according to the ASHRAE human comfort, since humans are needed to be accomodated in the premesis. These are easier to access and there is no need for special insulation.

On the other hand, industrial applications involves, manufacturing, food industries and its preservation, processing of chemicals and their storage etc. where human intervention is fairly low.
And its pretty obvious that, there applications requires high insulation and special regulations and thus these are hard to access.

The basic difference between commercial and industrial applications is quiete clear in accordance to their practical uses.

3 application of marine refrigeration : -

1. To avoid damage to those materials which are perishable, so that the transport can be carried out in healthy condition
2. An effective marine refrigeration system prevents the growth of micro-organisms, and keeps the cargo safe from being dry.
3. To provide comfortable and cool regulated temperature for the crew members working on board, irrespective of outside temperature.

Examples of Transport refrigeration can thus include : -

1. The most imperative application includes food preservation, i.e., Transport of perishable items.
2. Human comfort, for the transport of humans, refreigeration according to the ASHRAE human comfort chart irrespective of outside temperature.
3. Transport of temperature controlled chemicals, as there are chemicals which may become foul with slight temperature change, Hence, proper refrigeration is required in their transportation.

The examples of tranport vessels include : -

• Bus and train air conditioning
• Truck, trailer and wagon refrigeration.
• Reefer containers.
